Nursery Field Service Supervisor

- Supervise planting, staking, pruning, and harvesting of large trees and nursery stock.
- Operate tractors and field equipment safely and efficiently, including attachments used for tree handling.
- Monitor, maintain, and repair irrigation systems, including drip lines, overhead systems, valves, and pumps.
- Oversee pest-control activities, ensuring proper application methods and compliance with safety standards.
- Inspect plant health regularly, identifying issues such as disease, nutrient deficiencies, or irrigation failures.
- Coordinate field preparation, including soil amendments, cultivation, and weed-management practices.
- Ensure proper handling and movement of large plant material, including ball-and-burlap (B&B) and container stock
- Lead a small field team, assigning daily tasks and ensuring productivity and safety.
- Train seasonal staff on equipment operation, plant-handling techniques, and nursery best practices.
- Promote a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
- Oversee routine maintenance of tractors, implements, irrigation tools, and nursery equipment.
- Coordinate repairs with internal maintenance teams or external service providers.
- Ensure safe operation and storage of tools and machinery.
- Manage shipping and receiving documentation for trees and plant materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, including plant counts, movement logs, and harvest data.
- Assist with scheduling deliveries, coordinating with logistics teams, customers, and internal departments.
- Complete daily reports, timesheets, and field activity logs.
- Experience operating tractors and field machinery.
- Hands-on experience maintaining irrigation systems.
- Practical experience with planting, harvesting, pest control, and general nursery operations.
- Strong administrative and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work the full seasonal schedule (February–November).
- Ability to lead and motivate a small team.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and performing physical tasks.
- Pesticide applicator license (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience working with large trees or landscape-grade nursery stock.
- Previous supervisory experience in agriculture, horticulture, or nursery production.
- Outdoor, hands-on environment with exposure to weather.
- Frequent lifting, bending, and operation of heavy equipment.
- Fast-paced seasonal workload with full-time hours.
