- Review the overall assigned operations of the businesses to ensure environmental protection and compliance with environmental laws, standards and company policies; and deliver risk assessment and risk management services.
- Conduct on-site environmental inspections, surveys, gather data, prepare document reviews and interviews and ensure monitoring programs are in place.
- Examine and prepare operational records related to the environmental performance, safety standards, maintenance and inventory control measures for appropriate government permits and requirements.
- Review and prepare management system plans, emergency preparedness and response procedures, employee training (for compliance with corporate and government standards), environmental monitoring programs.
- Provide input and assist Land & Environmental Manager with preparation of final incident/audit reports and discuss findings and recommendations with clients.
- Spill response, clean up & oversight.
- Researching, preparing reports and making presentations to workers, directors and management regarding environmental matters.
- Assist Civeo business units in developing proposals, environmental management plans, which includes instructions, policies and procedures.
- Related college or university post-secondary education (bachelor's or equivalent degree)
- Field of Study- Environmental science, Engineering, Science or EHS discipline preferred
- One of the following environmental certifications is an asset:
+ Environmental Professional (EP) or (EPt) certification
+ Professional Agrologist (P.Ag) designation
+ Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation
- 5+ years of professional environmental experience is required.
- Valid driver's license and clean 5 year driver's abstract is required.
- Knowledge of provincial and federal environmental legislation, industry regulations, standards, and trends.
- Knowledge and experience in environmental protection, resource management, environmental sustainability, environmental management, environmental auditing and/or greenhouse gas reporting.
- Knowledge of provincial crown lease & private lease acquisition an asset.
- Strong focus on quality: ability and commitment to achieve total customer satisfaction in the quality of Civeo products and services.
- Implement systems and processes focused on excellence and continuous improvement in environmental performance.
- Strong focus on safety, including personal safety, safety of co-workers, and protection of property on the job in accordance with company practices, industry standards, and government regulations.
- Strong environmental awareness and knowledge of impact of operational systems and processes on the environment.
- Ability to multitask, a good researcher.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and customer focus.
- Strong planning, organization, analytical, problem identification and problem solving skills.
- Ability to influence others and interface directly with cross-functional teams, to build and maintain lasting relationships with other departments and key business partners.
- Highly effective interpersonal skills, negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
- Must be able to travel up to 30-40% of the time
