AI Disclosure: Your application will be reviewed by our hiring team – we do not use artificial intelligence in the screening or selection of applicants for this position.What you will be doing:As a Pizzaiolo at Good Earth, you’ll take center stage in our vibrant Pizza Pavilion — crafting authentic, wood-fired pizzas that complement our estate winery experience. Working with fresh, high-quality ingredients and a traditional wood-burning oven, you’ll bring precision, passion, and creativity to every pie, creating pairings that enhance our handcrafted wines and celebrate the spirit of the vineyard.Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and cooking wood-fired pizzas to order with speed, accuracy, and attention to presentation
- Executing menu items from start to finish—including dough stretching, topping assembly, oven monitoring, and plating
- Maintaining consistent quality and minimizing waste while working efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Performing opening and closing duties as needed, including prep, station setup, and clean-down
- Upholding the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and station organization
- Ensuring the proper care, cleaning, and maintenance of the wood fire oven and all kitchen equipment
- Learning the details of our breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus to support service
- Communicating effectively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and coordinated service
- Taking direction from the Executive Chef and Sous Chef while contributing ideas and leadership to the kitchen culture
- Exercising sound judgment and professionalism during high-volume service
- Making a meaningful impact by contributing to memorable guest experiences—one handcrafted pizza at a time
- Supporting the kitchen team with other duties as assigned
- 1-2 years’ experience with banquet, catering or high volume kitchen environments
- Excellent knife skills and knowledge of cooking techniques
- Experience working with dough and wood fire pizza ovens
- Safe Food Handler's Certificate (Required)
- Culinary Trade Certification or Read Seal (an asset)
- A passion for food and a drive to do your best every shift
- Reliable transportation required
- Flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends and event based hours
