Town of Tillsonburg is looking for an outgoing Parks and Cemetery Summer Student to assist the Parks and Cemetery supervisory staff with the day-to-day operation of the Parks and Cemetery areas to ensure that the areas are well maintained and the user needs are met while operating in a safe manner.This is a seasonal student position with an option to enroll in OMERS defined pension plan. Start date: May 1, 2024.
End date: September 1, 2024.
Hourly rate: $16.55.
Weekly hours: 40.
Openings: 4.

- Working with the Parks and Cemetery staff or designate to provide a safe, clean and well run outdoor recreational areas
- Basic garden maintenance
- Maintain outdoor areas and all other sport facilities by operating push mowers, string trimmers, leaf blowers, and small ride or grass cutting equipment
- All other duties assigned
- Completion of high school, currently enrolled in post-secondary education
- Parks or grass cutting experience
- WHMIS Certified
- Good people skills, ability to work as a team member to handle the public consistently and in a pleasant manner
- Ability to work various shifts and weekends
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Valid class “G” license and clean drivers abstract
- Operation of midsized trucks, 1-ton truck with dump box an asset
- Must be returning to school in the fall.
