Location and Shift Information:
- 150 Disco Road, Etobicoke
- 545 Commissioners Street, Toronto
- Assists in site inspections and surveys. Takes photos. Delivers notices. Records data.
- Assists with marking and measuring.
- Assists with collecting, organizing and presenting of information/field notes/sketches/reports from field investigations and site visits.
- Enters data on various systems.
- Assists with maintaining equipment.
- Assists in performing technical tests.
- Assists with collecting samples for others to analyze.
- Assists with indexing, searching, retrieving and filing of records.
- Answers inquiries, provides general information, takes messages and directs inquiries to appropriate staff to answer questions/handle requests.
- Travels to various locations.
Your application must describe your qualifications as they relate to: * Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a post-second degree or diploma program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Civil or related Engineering program as recognized by the Ontario Colleges and Universities.
- Knowledge of municipal engineering including familiarity with CADD/GIS
- Experience with computers and software such as MS Office Suite.
- Experience in providing customer service to a broad range of stakeholders.
- Possession of a Class "G" Driver's License valid in the province of Ontario and provide a personal vehicle would be an asset.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to use various software tools and applications for developing and maintaining databases and spreadsheets.
- Ability to research, analyze, interpret and present information.
- Ability to conduct statistical analysis and manipulation of data.
- Analytical and problem solving skills.
- Interpersonal skills to work effectively as a member of a team.
- Must be familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and the Regulations that apply to this work.
- Flexibility to travel to other City work locations when required.
