- Responsible for training both new and existing Home Medical Drivers, identifying areas for improvement, and providing guidance and support to address deficiencies effectively.
- Proficient in accurately recording and managing data to maintain reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) for effective operational tracking.
- Responsible for dispatching , creating schedules, and coordinating on-call rotations to maintain smooth operations.
- Serving as a versatile back-up driver as needed, including coverage for sick days, vacations, and other absences.
- Available to act as a backup contact for after-hours emergency calls and provide driver support when needed.
- Actively participate and contribute to all aspects of daily operations.
- Product inventory and adjustment, including equipment warranty, cleaning, repairs, as well as general housekeeping.
- Ensure all aspects of safety are prioritized and adhered to within the Home Care Service role, fostering a culture of safety and compliance.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be self-motivated, able to work independently, and make decisions confidently.
- Detail-oriented and organized to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required for training purposes.
- 3 years valid drivers’ license and driving experience in a box truck or larger
- High school graduate or equivalent experience
- Excellent safety record
- Dispatch knowledge and inventory control is an asset
- 2 years’ experience in a leadership role an asset
- Proficiency in computer skills, including OneNote, OneDrive, Excel spreadsheets, phone applications, Geotab and Green mile routing software, is considered an asset.
- Experience with Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations is an asset
- Experience with Hours of Service (HOS) compliance is an asset
- Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 75 pounds
- Ability to use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating parts and tools repetitively
- Performing physical tasks that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials up to 75 pounds
- Ability to use abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time to complete specific maintenance tasks.
- Ability to complete tasks in restricted spaces or awkward positions
- Ability to spend long periods of time sitting or standing.
- Capable of performing duties effectively in various weather conditions.
- Proof of full vaccination against the COVID-19 virus is required for this role. Fully vaccinated means having received the full series of a COVID-19 vaccine or combination of COVID-19 vaccines approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) (e.g. two doses of a two-dose vaccine series, or one dose of a single-dose vaccine series), and having received the final dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days prior.
