- Leadership: Strong presence with the ability to lead, drive change and influence people to ensure we exceed the expectations of all partners.
- Initiative & Drive: The key to success as the individual proactively leads the Human Resources function.
- Strategic HR Management: Partner with the Senior Leadership and Operations Teams to provide support for initiatives including Performance Management, Labour & Employee Relations, Compensation, Leadership Development, Succession Planning, Employee Training and Development, etc. with an emphasis on building a positive and engaged employee experience.
- Recruitment & Selection: Coordinate, manage and participate in recruitment and selection focused on attracting top talent to the organization.
- Policy Administration: Develop and implement policies and procedures, embracing an anti-oppressive environment that values equity, diversity and inclusion.
- Health & Safety: Develop strategic plans in partnership with operations and the Joint Health & Safety Committee.
- Benefit Administration: Manage benefit administration plans for our employees.
- HR Administration: Prepare reports, review and update policies and procedures, ensure legislation compliance, records management, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Commerce, Human Resources, or related field required.
- Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) and/or Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation.
- Minimum five (5) years of progressive human resources experience in increasingly senior positions with successful hands-on human resources experience.
- Experience working in a non-profit setting is an asset.
- Experience working in a unionized environment.
- Knowledge of Canadian employment law, legislation, and best practices.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in coaching, mentoring, and training to impart knowledge and develop skill sets internally.
- Excellent organization and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker.
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
