You will report to the Supervisor, Estimating and Insulation Fabrication. You should have strong communication and customer service skills with adequate knowledge of design project management and AutoCAD software. Good knowledge of computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is a definite asset. You will be required to work independently and as part of a team with occasional travel. Gathering and forwarding to the estimating team all data (plans, specs, dimensions) relevant to tapered design project estimation.Perform take-offs on site, at client’s office, on the Construction Association’s virtual drawings room or through appropriate contacts).You will be responsible for generating estimates for commercial/residential roofing and exterior cladding projects.Estimates must take into consideration provincial building code and municipal building regulations.Adhere to contractual terms and conditions on various aspects of commercial/residential building projects.Handling of technical questions from the estimator team, Architects, Consultants and Contractors.Interpret architectural plans and specificationsOther duties as assignedProject CoordinationIt is your responsibility to ensure that pricing is both current and accurate and that you manage the material costing database. Make any necessary adjustments to outstanding quotations as price increases or changes to products that have been quoted are announced.Ensure proper material lead times are documented for the client and notice of inventory requirements are updated for shipping to ensure delivery dates can be met.Prepare cost and expenditure statements and provide forecasts at regular intervals for the duration of a project.Sales and Sales AuthorityMaintain relationships with contractors and clients. Approve pricing related matters for clients and suppliers within set rules.Assist sales team with customer negotiations and collection of competitor pricing for future considerations.Manage our CRM Sales Force database.Include tracking win/losses, estimates, quotations, competitors pricing history, new customers, Architects, Builders, Specifiers etc.Develop new clients; maintain and grow ongoing business relationships through direct and frequent communication.Review and approve all contracts and any suggested modifications to tendered quotes ensuring complicity to each the intent guidelines for each project.Develop standardize estimating and tendering procedures for you and your team.Performance MeasuresAchieve sales revenue and margin targets.Develop long term relationships with target customers.Estimating and shop drawing AccuracyQualificationsGraduate from a recognized engineering, architectural or construction management program is an asset (Technician or Technologist).Minimum 3 years’ experience working in the construction field in a similar or related position is preferred.Commercial/Residential Roofing Knowledge is required.Previous experience estimating projects is preferred.Ability to analyze information closely, estimate, plan, and pay attention to detailExperience with sloped/tapered roof insulation.Exceptional oral and written communication skills.Must be comfortable using Microsoft Excel.Experience with Salesforce an asset.Experience with Tapered roofing software Estimating Software is an asset.Experience with other estimating software an asset.CAD (Computer Aided Design) program(s)Mathematic abilityExperience and Skills (alternate)Graduate from a recognized engineering, architectural or construction management program is an asset (Technician or Technologist).Minimum 3 years’ experience working in the construction field in a similar or related position is preferred.Working knowledge the following software is an asset:CRM Customer Relationship Management – (Saleforce)Tapered estimating – (Taperplus)Microsoft Office – (word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publishing, Outlook)CAD (Computer Aided Design) program(s)Mathematic abilityExceptional oral and written communication skillsExperience in any estimating software an assetBasic Roofing industry knowledgeSalary: 55,000$-60,000$ / Year***this is a replacement***Benefits of Employment: Roofmart recognizes that its success is due to the strength of its employees.
