This role acts as the liaison between the sophisticated work performed by the designers, programmers, and artists who work on a wide variety of features for our new game. This role will report directly to the Technical Art Director of the studio.What You'll DoResearch, build, and develop new technologies and art workflows while maintaining existing processes. This includes environments, props, characters, shaders, lighting, and rigs.Collaborate with Art and Engineering to drive research, workflows, and technologies for improved deformations, animation fidelity, and streamlined creation processTroubleshoot technical issues related to geometry, character rigs, animation, and simulation.Become a proficient user and contributor of the existing toolset and workflow, making any necessary improvements to enhance the capabilitiesCoach, mentor and help team members growWhat Will Make You A Great FitMinimum of 8-10+ years experience and advanced knowledge as a technical artistProficient in Maya and Python with significant experience writing tools (Python, PySide/PyQt, C#/C++/Maya API)Experience with Lighting, Materials and Shaders as applied to Physically Based Rendering.Experience researching, piloting and rolling out new techniquesExtensive experience with Unreal Engine 4 and/or 5Excellent verbal and written communication skillsBeneficial QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Graphic Arts, Art or a related field, or equivalent industry experienceHigh level Blueprint scripting experience in Unreal Engine 4 or 5Understanding of modern rendering techniques and high-level shading languagesExperience profiling CPU and GPU performanceKnowledge of Houdini or other similar softwareExperience on current and next-gen consolesThe pay range for this position in British Columbia at the start of employment is expected to be between $133,900 and $198,160 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards and eligibility to participate in our 401(K) plan and Employee Stock Purchase Program.
