Sector: Residential Construction – Mid-RisePosition OverviewWe are currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager (SPM) to support the growth of our residential construction operations in the Greater Montreal area. This is a newly created position due to business expansion, not a replacement.The Senior Project Manager will oversee residential mid-rise projects and play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality and safety standards. The role reports directly to the President and focuses primarily on managing Site Superintendents (SS) rather than a team of Project Managers.Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple complex projects concurrently, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and clients to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Conduct regular project status meetings and provide timely updates to all relevant parties, including senior management.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues that may impact project success, implementing effective solutions to keep projects on track.
- Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure optimal resource utilization across all assigned projects.
- Mentor and guide junior project managers and team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and other external stakeholders to ensure project success and client satisfaction.
- Implement and maintain project management best practices, methodologies, and tools across the organization.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement and lessons learned, contributing to the organization's knowledge base.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and project management methodologies to drive innovation and efficiency in project delivery.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a senior role managing complex, multi-faceted projects.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects on time and within budget.
- Strong proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Trello).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent.
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
