- Perform system studies including but not limited to protective device coordination and the following explorations: short circuit, arc flash, load flows, ampacity, grounding, harmonic, and power quality.
- Design collection systems, including cable routing and cable sizing.
- Create equipment specifications for and apply knowledge of renewable energy systems including PV solar modules, inverters, battery energy storage systems (BESS), transformers, cable management systems, and balance-of-system (BOS).
- Write reports and make presentations describing studies performed, solutions developed, and value obtained.
- Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, codes.
- Manage time efficiently across multiple projects.
- Coordinate with clients and project managers on their expectations.
- Work under the guidance of more senior staff.
- Work on or lead small projects or portions of larger projects in preparation of drawings and engineering documentation.
- Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments.
- Collaboratively use judgment to determine adaptations in methods for nonroutine aspects of assignments.
- Receives direction on unconventional and/or complex problems, and possible solutions.
- Receives a thorough review of completed work for application of sound professional judgment.
- Perform essential duties including meeting deliverables and deadlines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned or directed.
- Bachelor's degree or greater in Electrical Engineering or similar.
- EIT Certificate is desirable.
- 2+ years of experience in power systems analysis.
- Knowledge of power systems analysis software tools such as ETAP, CDEGS, CYMCAP, PSS/E, PSLF, or similar is desirable.
- Knowledge of power distribution, transmission, solar PV systems or energy storage systems is desirable.
- Experience working with different vendor-provided dynamic models is preferred.
- Experience applying Python or similar programming languages for process automation is desirable.
- Ability to identify and solve complex problems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to be both creative and analytical.
- Detail-oriented and accurate.
