We invite you to come see what the power of belonging can do for you, your career and your community.The Opportunity:Reporting to the Child Care Manager, the Summer Camp Coordinator plays a key leadership role in the planning, delivery, and oversight of summer camp programming at the Glenn Carpenter Centre. This position is responsible for ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for children, while supporting and supervising camp staff.The Summer Camp Coordinator will contribute to creating meaningful experiences for children and families, while gaining valuable leadership and program management experience within a dynamic team environment.Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with New Brunswick Child Care Standards, YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum, and Child Protection policies
  • Plan, organize, and implement high-quality, child-centered summer camp programming
  • Provide direct supervision, leadership, and performance management to camp staff
  • Conduct site checks and ensure health, safety, and licensing requirements are consistently met
  • Maintain accurate documentation, attendance records, and administrative reporting
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members
  • Respond to and adapt programming based on children’s needs and interests
  • Support daily camp operations, including scheduling and staff coordination
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience in childcare, summer camps, or youth programming
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience is considered an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills
  • Current First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Employment is contingent upon:
