Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Heavy Duty Mechanic to support the assembly, inspection, and testing of mechanical and hydraulic systems for one of our clients in North Bay, ON. This role is responsible for verifying, testing, and inspecting subassemblies and completed products to ensure they meet required quality standards, product specifications, and all company policies and procedures.This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on experience with heavy equipment, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.Pay Rate: $50,000 to $65,000Location: North Bay, ONJob type: Permanent | Full-timeVacancy Status: This posting is for a future vacancy.Responsibilities:Interpret engineering drawings and schematics to construct and install mechanical and hydraulic assemblies, circuits, and systemsBuild, fit, and install prefabricated and purchased components into subassemblies or finished products according to drawings or instructions from the Assembly SupervisorAssemble hydraulic systems, including proper hose routing, and fabricate hoses and fittings based on schematics, specifications, or supervisory directionSafely use pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical tools in compliance with safety regulations and industry best practicesOperate material-handling equipment such as overhead and gantry cranes, following approved rigging practices and load-handling proceduresVerify the quality, performance, and functionality of subassemblies and completed productsPerform minor modifications, adjustments, and repairs to assemblies or finished products as requiredCollaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to report non-conformances identified during the shift and assist with corrective actionsMaintain a clean, organized work area by consistently applying 5S and housekeeping standardsDemonstrate strong understanding of mechanical and hydraulic assembly principlesComply with all regulatory, safety, and company-specific requirementsFollow ISO 9001 Quality Management System procedures and related documentationContribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, product performance, productivity, and workplace effectivenessParticipate in cross-training and provide temporary support to other departments as operational needs requireQualifications and Skills:Red Seal certification as a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician or equivalentExperience maintaining or repairing construction or mining equipment (e.g., excavators, dozers, cranes)Background in hydraulic and electrical system integration and troubleshootingFamiliarity with telematics systems and remote diagnostic technologiesExperience working with OEM service bulletins and equipment-specific repair manualsEnrollment in the 421A Heavy Duty Mechanic (HDM) Apprenticeship Program (Level 2 or Level 3)2-4 years of hands-on experience servicing and repairing heavy mobile equipment used in construction, mining, or industrial environmentsProven experience diagnosing and repairing:Diesel enginesHydraulic systemsBrake systemsTransmissionsProficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment, including:OBD-II scannersDiagnostic softwareMultimetersHydraulic testing toolsAbility to work independently while contributing effectively in a team environmentValid driver's license and ability to safely operate heavy machinery and related equipmentBasic welding and fabrication skills are considered an assetMust be legally eligible to work, and reside in CanadaAre you interested in this position?
