- Develop a solid grasp of veritree’s platform and dMRV technology (digital measurement, reporting, and verification) and be able to clearly articulate its differentiation.
- Build industry knowledge in priority sectors (retail, fashion, hospitality, food & beverage, insurance, and energy) so conversations reflect awareness of their sustainability pressures and opportunities.
- Consistently hitting or exceeding activity targets: Regular cadence of outreach through calls, emails, LinkedIn, and events.
- Booking qualified meetings with Partnership Managers and Executives (e.g., a clear monthly quota achieved by month 6).
- Healthy pipeline contribution: measurable percentage of total pipeline influenced or generated by your outbound efforts.
- Build strong working relationships with relevant team members.
- Actively contribute to weekly sales standups by sharing wins, objections, and new prospecting tactics that benefit the wider team.
- Demonstrate a team-first mindset, contributing to the collective success of the business development organization, not just individual metrics.
- Proactively identify and engage new business opportunities through targeted outreach.
- Collaborate with Marketing to design and execute outbound campaigns for high-value prospects.
- Build relationships with stakeholders, uncover prospect needs, and align them with veritree’s solutions.
- Manage and maintain accurate records in the CRM, ensuring opportunities move seamlessly through the pipeline.
- Book sales meetings for Partnership Managers and Executives.
- Hit activity targets through a multi-channel approach, including cold calling, emailing, and networking.
- Report regularly on pipeline progress, lead activity, and booked meetings.
- 2+ years of experience in sales or business development with a record of exceeding targets.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a natural, conversational tone.
- Proficiency with HubSpot or other CRM software.
- Familiarity with AI-powered sales tools to optimize research, prospecting, and outreach.
- Eager to learn and grow within a fast-scaling sales organization.
- Creative problem-solver with strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working in a start-up environment with resilience and adaptability.
- Proficiency in additional languages such as Portuguese, Spanish, Hindi, or Chinese dialects is considered an asset.
