During month-end periods, some overtime and flexibility may be required to meet demands of the role. This role is a full-time 12-month contract opportunity.Discretion, confidentiality and attention to detail are essential to this role and required at all times.RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Provide support to Billing team to process invoices, transfers and write-offs in the Finance System utilizing both 3E and Billstream
  • Monitor and respond to emails received into general team inbox from either internal or external clients
  • Ensure compliance with both internal billing procedures, external client requirements and the Rules of the Law Societies
  • Data input / clean up within Finance System
  • Assist with various Finance projects as required
  • Clearing of minimal / zero-dollar invoices from the Finance System
  • Produce draft accounts, review, modify and finalize invoices to ensure smooth billing process
  • The preparation, review and issuance of time reports as scheduled
  • Provide accurate, timely, and responsive completion of financial tasks as requested
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have working knowledge of finance and other general accounting procedures.
  • Strong mathematical and problem solving skills are necessary.
  • Must be a self-starter with excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong ability to ensure all firm policies and control procedures are met.
  • Demonstrate ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and organize a high-volume fluctuating workload.
  • Excellent technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently and effectively with individuals at all levels within a team-oriented environment.
  • Must be resourceful and demonstrate strong problem solving skills, with the ability to make judgment calls in an experienced and professional manner.
  • Able to work efficiently/accurately with little instruction or supervision while demonstrating initiative.
  • Able to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Knowledge of Elite 3E or similar accounting software (Elite Enterprise, Aderant, Mitratech, NetSuite, SAP) is preferable.
  • Previous experience in a law firm or professional services environment is an asset.
