- Ensure full compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA), including Sections 25, 26, 27, and 28, in accordance with HWSL policies for management, supervision, and worker safety.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, quality, and safety standards within the department.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Lead direct reports to meet or exceed cost-savings and productivity objectives.
- Support HACCP, GMP, and technical audit requirements.
- Foster open and effective communication with internal stakeholders to ensure optimal quality and operational outcomes.
- Ensure preventative maintenance programs are executed as planned and all work is accurately tracked.
- Provide technical support to drive process improvements and equipment reliability.
- Track, inspect, and validate trades work for completeness, maintaining accurate records within the CMMS work order system.
- Oversee emergency and breakdown repairs to ensure timely and effective resolution.
- Build and sustain a high-performing team by developing employee capabilities through coaching, training, and development opportunities.
- Manage professional and respectful relationships with union members and skilled trades personnel.
- Maintain zero non-conformance certification for ISO 9002.
- Manage financial accountability for Maintenance & Repair (M&R) and labour budgets.
- College Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
- Working knowledge of HACCP and GMP requirements
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of collective agreements and unionized environments
- Knowledge of manufacturing and bottling equipment
- Thorough understanding of applicable health and safety regulations
- High competency in critical thinking, customer focus, team building, influencing, and collaboration
- Ability to think strategically, with a “big picture” mindset and a focus on continuous improvement and innovation
- Participates in goal setting and accountable for own, limited budget for asset administration and goals. Operates in predetermined limits.
