Regional Controller
Our client is seeking an experienced Regional Controller in Winnipeg to lead financial operations, ensure accurate reporting, and oversee the implementation of financial policies in a performance-driven environment.Your success will be defined by your ability to:
  • Oversee month-end close, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations for regional entities
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial records in line with GAAP
  • Prepare monthly management reports and internal financial statements (ASPE)
  • Support budgeting, profit plans, cash flows, strategic planning, and cost estimates
  • Analyze and report financial results and variances to the Regional VP
  • Coordinate year-end audits and prepare tax documentation
  • Review legal documents related to sales, transfers, and agreements
  • Develop proformas for rental and land development opportunities
  • Provide coaching and feedback to accounting team members
Your strengths include:
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
  • CPA designation required
  • 7+ years of post-designation accounting experience, ideally in real estate or land development
  • Operational controller experience is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP/ASPE, financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and tax
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably JD Edwards/Oracle
  • Proficiency in SharePoint is an asset
