- Lead and execute capital engineering projects including both project management and engineering design responsibilities.
- Assess capital needs and associated costs, preparing savings analyses and funding proposal presentations in collaboration with plant leadership and corporate engineering resources to secure approved funding.
- Identify and develop suppliers to secure best‑cost implementation options and establish clear design bases to ensure complete project definition is successfully complete.
- Plan, organize, and supervise contractor installations, ensuring all work meets organizational health and safety expectations and verify that all contractors maintain required insurance coverage.
- Develop and maintain the contractor safety program to ensure safe execution of all contracted work.
- Oversee construction projects to achieve zero safety and process‑safety incidents while delivering on time and within budget.
- Ensure complete and timely communication is maintained with Production/Distribution to ensure limited work stoppage, when required.
- Develop all required documentation, update any outstanding documentation for area of improvement and lead the Management of Change process for all projects.
- Manage the site’s capital budget and related expense budgets ensuring alignment with financial targets related to capital spending for the site.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and corporate compliance programs across all engineering activities and programs within the site.
- Maintain an active cost‑savings project list pipeline to support year‑over‑year operational cost savings and efficiency goals.
- Establish and maintain accountability for the cost of materials and supplies related to the capital projects and in concert with the annual budget.
- Ensure availability of spare parts for new projects and equipment to support repair needs and TPM/PM schedules.
- Purchase materials for capital project activities consistent with established quality standards, from authorized suppliers.
- Maintain good working relationships with all suppliers to support priority purchasing position and reliable service.
- Prepare and manage the capital budget to ensure the entire facility including the plant, buildings and surrounding grounds is maintained in accordance with acceptable standards.
- Develops networks with other departments, division and functions within Ecolab, as well as with customers and vendors external to Ecolab.
- Performs other related duties as appropriate for the role and function.
- Support two facilities in Mississauga.
- The role involves working in an office and chemical production/distribution setting.
- The position supports multi-shift sites and may require providing support outside of regular hours including evenings, nights and weekends.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or related technical discipline
- P. Eng designation
- 3-5 + years related experience, including team leadership experience
- Related experience in purchasing, capital project management (justification, design, implementation, financial control), and production.

- Must be able to perform physical duties
- Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs
- Position will be exposed to chemical production and warehouse conditions
- Chemical industry experience
- Experience in maintenance management systems, including Total Predictive Maintenance, computer based work order systems, and labour estimating and planning.
- Previous production experience, capital project work, and leadership experience.
- Strong technical knowledge. Experience with pumps, welding, bearings, electrical safety, forklifts, gears, hydraulics, valves, and rigging is an asset.
- Excellent computer skills using Email, Internet, Access, Word, and Excel to enter data and prepare reports. Experience with a CMMS, SAP or other ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) tool is an asset.
- Experience in AutoCAD is an asset.
- Previous safety and behaviour-based safety culture experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong problem solving skills and analytical skills.

- Must have a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
