Iotron is seeking a dynamic and strategic Lab Manager to oversee site operations, lead the radiochemistry team, and drive key programs forward. This is a leadership role responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, clinical supply of copper-67 and other medical isotopes, leadership, implementation of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and stakeholder alignment. The successful candidate will bring a combination of operational excellence, technical acumen in radiochemistry, and team leadership.As the Lab Manager, Radiochemistry, you will:
- Lead and oversee the daily operations of the radiochemistry lab, ensuring efficient and reliable processing of radioisotope products
- Manage the end-to-end chemical processing workflow, from post-irradiation through to final product readiness and shipment
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of junior lab associates, building structure, accountability, and team culture
- Ensure compliance with GMP standards, radiation safety protocols, and regulatory requirements
- Drive process optimization and continuous improvement across lab operations
- Act as the subject matter expert in radiochemistry, supporting technical decision-making across the company
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and leadership on production scheduling and execution
- Prepare and present technical updates and reports to the Scientific Advisory Board
- Contribute to strategic direction, providing recommendations in an evolving environment
- Manage lab-related resources, including supplies, equipment, and budget oversight
- Master's, PhD, or post-doctoral degree in Radiochemistry, Chemistry, or a related field
- Proven success leading GMP manufacturing processes
- Strong foundation in radiochemistry, radiopharma, or radioisotope processing
- Demonstrated experience leading teams in a lab, academic, or production environment
- Expert knowledge of isotope production and radiation safety standards
- Experience working within regulated environments, including familiarity with CNSC, Health Canada, or similar bodies
- Proven ability to manage operations, workflows, and competing priorities
- Comfortable acting as a senior technical expert within a small, growing organization
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to present to technical and non-technical stakeholders
