What you’ll do:
  • We will challenge you with unique designs, the opportunity to engage with multi discipline teams, and finding new ways to help ensure our processes adapt to our evolving business.
  • Work with architects, engineers, and other design technologists to produce engineering drawings of building mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, etc.).
  • You will have the opportunity to develop detailed designs and perform detailed design calculations.
  • The successful candidate will join a dynamic buildings engineering team active on government, institution, industrial, and private sector projects.
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers in creating 2D and 3D Concept Illustrations.
  • Create 3D Layout Designs.
  • Drafting 2D Layouts and Sections.
  • Reviewing Drawing Packages.
  • Providing support on design development.
  • Coordinating and communicating with multidiscipline designers.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation frameworks.
  • Provide input on design details.
  • Take on CAD Design Lead on projects as required.
Does this sound like you?
  • Diploma in Design/Drafting Technology from an accredited technical institution.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and knowledge of MEP software.
  • Experience in computer-aided drafting, modelling, and design of Building Mechanical Services consisting of HVAC and plumbing systems.
  • Design experience on commercial and/or industrial projects.
  • Knowledge of Alberta Building Codes, National Plumbing Code, ASHRAE Standards, and NFPA Standards.
  • Field and construction site review experience is considered an asset.
  • LEED certification is considered an asset.
  • Basic understanding or willingness to learn: Revit, Navisworks, Revizto and Sketchup.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills. Committed team player and the ability to work independently.
  • Driven to deliver high quality designs and self-motivated.
  • BIM knowledge will be an added advantage.
