
Maintenance Supervisor

- Leads maintenance department and directs maintenance activities related to facility and equipment repair and installation.
- Communicates daily with operations personnel to prioritize maintenance activities and escalates issues as required.
- Coordinates work of outside contractors and ensure that the facility operates in a safe and efficient manner providing the best cost reduction solutions.
- Ensures that preventative maintenance complies with the Company Quality Standards and ensures that the department and employees comply with all Quality systems and ISO 14001.
- Ensures that all maintenance documentation is correctly completed and updated regularly.
- Sources equipment, tooling, and spare parts. Participates in new equipment purchases and is responsible for the coordination of "Pre-Start Review" on all new equipment.
- Participates and follows up on weekly layered audit as it relates to safety processes.
- Coordinates maintenance request forms to ensure that required routine, emergency & preventive maintenance is completed on time, and directs the implementation of corrective action to prevent schedule deviation in order to meet due dates.
- Develops and implements new methods, systems, policies & procedures to ensure the efficient and effective operation of maintenance activities.
- Communicates and coordinates with other departments and vendors with regards to all maintenance issues and reports maintenance or equipment-related concerns to Management.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Mechanical or Engineering technology (diploma or degree), coupled with a Millwright and/or Electrician license (or equivalent) is considered an asset.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience and responsibility in plant maintenance.
- Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role is required, within a unionized environment is considered an asset.
- Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and experience with preventative (predictive) maintenance.
- A progressive approach to maintenance and process improvement driven.
- Ability to prioritize, plan and schedule work effectively with a production team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
- TPM experience, HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing experience would be an asset.
- Experience working with PLC, Hydraulics, and Pneumatics would be an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and MS Office suite.
- Knowledgeable of Ontario Health and Safety Act (OHSA) regulations.
