Role SummaryIn this role, you will be an integral engineer on the Commercial Tech Marketing team, building and maintaining digital solutions that power Rivian’s commercial customer experiences and marketing initiatives. The core responsibility is building and maintaining the digital experiences that attract, engage, and convert customers, with a major focus on rivian.com. The team partners closely with product management, design, business stakeholders, and other cross-functional groups to deliver innovative, scalable software that drives customer engagement and business growth.You will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of both web and backend applications supporting our commercial marketing efforts. The ideal candidate is a skilled engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment, takes ownership of their work, and is motivated to solve complex challenges. Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions for commercial marketing initiatives.
  • Contribute to the architectural roadmap and technical strategy for our web and marketing platforms, making key decisions that will influence scalability and future capabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver features that meet business objectives.
  • Integrate lead generation tools and CRM platforms with marketing platforms to streamline customer acquisition and data flow.
  • Implement and maintain modern web technologies to enhance performance and scalability of web applications.
  • Develop and support localization features to ensure products are accessible and relevant to global audiences.
  • Optimize application performance, including load times, responsiveness, and resource usage, across web and backend systems.
  • Design and implement engaging, performant animations and interactive UI elements to enhance user experience.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues in production and development environments.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of team processes, tools, and technical standards.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to commercial tech and marketing.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience, with 3+ years of building large scale enterprise grade systems.
  • Proven experience engineering solutions within a modern MarTech ecosystem. You should be comfortable integrating with headless CMS platforms, CRMs, customer data platforms (CDPs), and server-side analytics or A/B testing frameworks.
  • Software development experience in React, Node.js.
  • Proficiency in developing frontend components and single-page applications using technologies like Typescript and React (or similar) with a keen eye for design.
  • A strong commitment to operational excellence and system observability, with hands-on experience implementing and maintaining robust monitoring, logging (e.g., Splunk, Datadog), and distributed tracing.
  • Dedicated to unit, integration testing and coverage – comfortable using tools of
the trade on profiling, source control. * Strong technical background in Computer Science, Engineering or a relatedtechnology field. * Deep experience in a cloud-native environment, with a strong preference for AWS. You should be proficient in designing, deploying, and managing applications using containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and Infrastructure as Code.Pay DisclosureSalary Range for British Columbia Based Applicants: $108,200 - $135,300 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental, and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or deomestic partner, and children up to age 26.
