Reporting to the Mine Operations Superintendent, you will be part of the Mine Operations Department. You will be responsible for leading a team of skilled and dedicated mine supervisors and operators in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner in the extraction of ore and movement of waste rock. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.Provide visible safety leadership, ensure compliance with HSE standards, Ontario OH&S regulations, and lead quality incident investigations with effective corrective actions;Maintain full accountability for employee and contractor safety, including drill pattern control and blasting activities;Execute the 24Hour and 2Week Mine Plans, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in the correct locations;Achieve or exceed crusher throughput and production targets through disciplined shift execution and effective hot/shift change management;Develop daily execution plans and Blast Day Plans, considering equipment availability, manpower, priorities, and weather impacts;Drive consistent use of Short Interval Control (SIC) and perform field audits to minimize delays and improve productivity;Set daily priorities for load & haul, pit services, dewatering, and adverse weather response to reduce operational interruptions;Maintain blasted muck inventory targets and ensure accurate, timely drill and blast data tracking and reporting;Lead effective communication through crossover, PSI, 24Hour, and MinetoMill meetings while coordinating with Technical Services, Maintenance, and the Mill;Provide strong people leadership through coaching, performance management, training oversight, workforce planning, and use of SAP for operational logistics;Assess employee performance and coaching appropriate actions as required;Promote a climate of trust and participation.QualificationsMinimum high school diploma or GED with extensive open pit experience; or degree in mining or related field with operations experience;Minimum five (5) years’ supervisory experience in an open pit mining operation;Strong working knowledge of load/haul and drill & blast operations;Proven commitment to safety, health and environmental best practices;Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and accountability skills;Proficiency with Short Interval Control and operational reporting toolsExcellent organizational and leadership skills;Valid Ontario driver’s license;Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.Your Work Schedule:Schedule: 7 days of work, followed by 7 days for transportation and rest;Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
