- Assist in the preparation of internal credit submissions (i.e. company, industry and financial analysis and modeling) and other documentation related to the transaction approval process
- Work in a team environment with RBC Capital Markets partners including investment banking, loan syndications, commodities, foreign exchange, interest rate derivatives, debt and equity capital markets, loan agency, risk management, portfolio management etc.
- Assist with internal credit administration, including monitoring the team’s loan portfolio performance and market/industry conditions
- Create, maintain, and update pitch decks, internal presentation materials, spreadsheets, and databases
- Assist with Corporate Banking coverage for identified clients
- Highly motivated self-starter with keen attention to detail and strong interest in corporate finance and credit
- Ability to perform well under pressure, meet time sensitive deadlines, adapt to changing circumstances, prioritizes work and multi-task responsibilities while working for multiple people
- Advanced financial modeling abilities, as well as superior written and presentation skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power Point
- Knowledge of Bloomberg Portal would be an asset
- Strong analytical skills including the ability to critically assess financial statements and other client reports to draw reasonable conclusions and make recommendations
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to maintain relationships at all levels within and outside of the organization
- Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will regularly serve our clients and do business with RBC partners and/or employees across Canada with English and French speaking needs.
- Strong academic credentials including completion of Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics or Engineering mathematics or any other problem solving fields
- Enrollment in the CFA program or other relevant professional designation would be an asset.
- 1-2 years of relevant work experience in corporate lending / corporate finance would be an asset but is not required
- 2-5 years work experience in a related field, including corporate lending, finance and/or risk management.
- MBA or CPA, CFA professional designation (completed or near completion) would be an asset
