- Provide planning, design, and coordination support on healthcare projects of varying scales and complexity.
- Prepare and develop architectural drawings, diagrams, test fits, and space plans using CAD, BIM, and other tools.
- Translate user group input and clinical/operational requirements into architectural layouts and test fits under minimal guidance of senior planners.
- Apply functional planning principles to architectural layouts; familiarity with healthcare functional programming and applicable capital planning processes are considered assets.
- Participate in and support user group meetings and planning workshops, leading portions as appropriate.
- Coordinate planning information with architectural, engineering, and project management disciplines.
- Research and apply applicable Canadian healthcare facility guidelines, standards, and best practices.
- Assist with the preparation of reports, presentation materials, and planning documentation.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Master’s Degree in Architecture
- EDAC, WELL, LEED, or other applicable certifications.
- 6+ years experience in healthcare A/E industry, with 3 years as a health planner
- Ability to independently develop architectural test fits, master plans, and space plans
- Proficiency with BIM software such as Revit and Rhino
- Excellent communication, leadership, and facilitation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Fluency with Canadian healthcare facility standards, including CSA Z8000, CSA Z317, CSA B651, AODA, and applicable building codes
- Experience leading user group meetings or stakeholder engagement sessions
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field
- A minimum of 3 years experience in A/E industry
- Strong organizational skills
- Understanding of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, prints, drawings and models
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and flexible
- Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in the construction of buildings
