
Engineering Support Technologist (Temporary)

- Assist in the design, assembly, and testing of sonar prototypes and related electronics.
- Support software integration and testing on embedded and PC-based platforms.
- Conduct functional and performance testing of sonar systems in lab and field environments.
- Document and process engineering change orders (ECOs) and support configuration management.
- Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during development and production.
- Solder electronics for prototyping and rework.
- Provide technical support to production teams including test procedures and quality checks.
- Maintain lab equipment and ensure proper calibration and documentation.
- Diploma or degree in Electronics Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years of experience in electronics and software prototyping and testing.
- Proficiency with test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, signal generators, etc.).
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and issue tracking tools.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- High level of energy, enthusiasm, optimism, and a sense of urgency and passion for excellence.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and to adapt to priority changes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience acting as a liaison between departments internally.
- Experience working in an R&D electronics environment for 2+ years is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of electronics troubleshooting and testing.
- Solid electronics background, including the use of oscilloscopes, analysers, and power supplies.
- Software and firmware testing, verification and validation experience is preferred.
- Experience with sonar systems, acoustic sensors, or marine technologies is preferred.
- SWQA experience related to desktop and firmware applications preferred.
