
Senior IT Administrator

- Maintain and support a hybrid IT environment, including on-prem servers, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, AWS, etc.)
- Administer identity services (Azure AD, Okta, etc.), group policies, and secure authentication workflows
- Manage backups, disaster recovery solutions, and patch management across systems and endpoints
- Monitor performance and health of systems, storage, and networks; proactively resolve issues
- Support office infrastructure including LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, firewalls, and VoIP systems
- Maintain endpoint protection, MDM tools, and compliance with internal security policies
- Collaborate with the Security team on incident response, access reviews, and vulnerability management
- Ensure consistent implementation of least-privilege access, MFA, and encryption standards
- Oversee IT support for Level 1/2 escalations, ensuring SLAs and support quality are maintained
- Onboard/offboard users, manage hardware provisioning, and support remote and in-office employees
- Create and maintain documentation, knowledge base articles, and internal runbooks
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior IT and Helpdesk staff
- Lead or support infrastructure upgrades, office expansions, migrations, and automation initiatives
- Evaluate and implement new tools or processes to improve IT efficiency and security
- Standardize configurations, streamline onboarding processes, and improve asset management workflows
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams in Engineering, Security, and Operations
- 6+ years of experience in IT systems administration or similar technical roles
- Strong hands-on experience with both on-prem infrastructure and cloud-based tools and services
- Proficiency in Active Directory, virtualization platforms, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, etc
- Solid networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP, firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, etc.)
- Experience supporting Mac and Windows environments in a hybrid/remote-first setting
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, service-oriented mindset
- Based in or able to commute to Ottawa, Ontario (hybrid role with regular office presence required)
- Certifications such as MCSA/MCSE, CompTIA Network+/Security+, Azure/AWS certifications an asset
- Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python) an asset
- Familiarity with compliance standards (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.) an asset
- Experience supporting SaaS teams in a regulated or security-conscious environment an asset
