This position is ideal for individuals passionate about data-driven inventory planning, market trends, and cross-functional collaboration to drive profitability.Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Wholegoods Inventory Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing the organization's new and used equipment inventory, with a strategic focus on used and aged assets. Your responsibilities will include:
- Inventory Optimization & Management:
- Ensure new inventory levels meet customer demand while controlling interest expenses and cash flow per corporate standards.
- Optimize used inventory turnover to reduce carrying costs and maximize profitability.
- Evaluation & Reconditioning:
- Lead the used equipment evaluation process to ensure reconditioning aligns with inventory age and market demand.
- Leverage market insights to inform trade decisions and profitability assessments.
- Trade & Pricing Strategy:
- Approve trades exceeding $100,000 and for large agriculture/construction machinery (e.g.,
- Wholesale & Retail Strategy:
- Develop wholesale customer relationships and execute strategies to accelerate used equipment sales.
- Implement and manage strategies to reduce aged equipment, including write-downs and accelerated turnover.
- Reporting & Analytics:
- Provide detailed inventory reporting with a focus on financial metrics like cash exposure, interest expenses, and turnover rates.
- Ensure regular tracking of KPIs including aging, inventory turns, sales-to-close, and overall balance sheet health.
- Systems & Collaboration:
- Work cross-functionally with leadership to implement a business system for seamless inventory and sales management.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support reconditioning, sales, and operational effectiveness.
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or college diploma in business, marketing, or a related field-or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in sales, inventory, or marketing within the equipment or related industries.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of inventory management systems and financial reporting tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, PowerPoint, and CRM/email platforms.
- Key Competencies:
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills across multiple channels (email, phone, in-person).
- Strategic thinker with the ability to evaluate financial impacts and make confident decisions.
- Strong time management and organizational skills, especially under pressure or competing priorities.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities, including coaching and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
