General Labourer Summer StudentsSofina Foods, Mitchell PlantPosition Summary:We are seeking motivated students to join our Production Team. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for dependable team players who consistently show up on time and take pride in their work. In this role, you will perform a variety of manual or machine-assisted tasks involved in the processing of meat (i.e., turkey) products. The position requires initiative, willingness to learn various processes as assignment will be to different areas within production as required.Monday – Thursday 10:00am – 8:30pmWage: $20.40/hr.Key Accountabilities:

Handle raw meat.
Working with a knife, cutting and trimming turkey sections.
Remove bones and cut meat into standard cuts.
Tend assemble lines to perform cuts.
Orient meat products on conveyor belts.
Maintain clean work area and pick up meat debris.
Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Perform tasks which are repetitive and require strong hand/eye coordination.
Ability to lift a min of 30 pounds, and ability to stand for extended hours.
Ability to work in a cold, damp environment.
Must be dependable and punctual.
Must be able to communicate and understand English.
Strict adherence to hygiene and health and safety regulations.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
