- Shift/Hours - Monday - Friday, Days - Weekends as required.
- The full base salary range for this position is from $70,650 - $78,000 annually. The starting base salary offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, role complexity, skills, experience, and internal equity.
- Develop, coordinate, and perform training activities. This includes weekly new employee EHS orientation.
- Coordinate and administer the safety/incident investigation review committee (IRC/SIRC) meetings and reporting.
- Perform audits/inspections and monitor compliance.
- Provide subject matter knowledge to department managers/supervisors to support the identification of EHS gaps and improvement opportunities and assist in development, implementation and monitoring of actions.
- Accurately develop various reports on EHS performance (weekly, monthly, quarterly) containing both leading and lagging indicators.
- Develop/support/participate in EHS program development and implementation.
- Maintain and update EHS Bulletin boards,SDS binders & Source Intelligence, spills kits, hazard report boxes, and first aid room/kits.
- Review and update documents, communication, and forms.
- Participate in local management & corporate QHSE related activities.
- 2-3 years Environment, Health and Safety experience preferably in a unionized manufacturing/warehouse/distribution work environment.
- Experience with ISO 14001/45001 certification process and audits.
- Knowledge of Federal, Provincial and Local regulations on Workplace Health & Safety, Transportation and Worker Compensation.
- Ability to influence others such as managers/supervisors/employees.
- Proficient in MS excel, word, power point and other online based tools.
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced work environment and remain organized.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others on initiatives and projects to ensure sustainable outcomes.
- Able to facilitate effective meetings, training sessions, and workshops.
- Able to access industrial work areas requiring bending, use of ladders, stairs, and extensive walking throughout the facility.
- BSc degree in sciences or in Occupational Health and Safety and/or Environment.
