- Direct reporting to Plant Manager.
- Provide leadership and strategic direction to Production Departments and Shift Supervisors in execution of the Production Schedule.
- Coordinate strategic business initiatives required to drive process improvement throughout the manufacturing and shipping processes, in pursuit of operational excellence.
- Apply knowledge and skills in Environmental Health and Safety to drive disciplined adherence to policies in support of an injury free work culture.
- Apply knowledge in Quality Management Systems and Lean Manufacturing to drive continuous improvement, robust processes, and focused standardization of best practices.
- Manage a cohesive set of key performance metrics for Safety, Quality, Operational Productivity and Customer Service.
- Lead/Manage and review Focused Continuous Improvement Wall (FCIW) initiatives.
- Conduct deep dives into operational processes to identify the root cause of issues and develop continuous improvement plans.
- Drive execution of continuous improvement plans with stakeholders
- Foster positive communication and relations with the Union.
- Engage with subject matter experts of key processes of Extrusion, Finishing (Anodizing & Paint) and Fabrication for best practices and procedures. Support the supervisory team in problem solving and ensure adherence to these best practices and procedures.
- Oversee and report on production execution and shipping performance to the Plant Manager.
- Daily analysis of production performance and preemptively implement necessary actions for successful execution of the production and shipping schedule.
- Communicate and follow up with supervisors on daily/weekly/monthly operational requirements.
- Sustain high performance of culturally diverse teams through an inclusive approach.
- Manage the development of talent with a focus on individual development and succession opportunities within the company
- Lead/Manage and review Focused Continuous Improvement Wall (FCIW) initiatives.
- Occasional coverage of frontline supervision based on business need.
- Other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
- Demonstrated leadership and coaching skills coupled with excellent oral and written communication skills to obtain results through others.
- Must be able to direct multiple tasks, teams and priorities in a fast-paced work environment and easily adapt to changing priorities.

- Microsoft Office Suite and ERP software usage experience (JDE preferred).
- High sense of ownership and accountability for daily execution of operations plan through teams.
- An understanding of high-level strategic planning and an ability to dive into details to problem-solve issues and ensure plan adherence.
- Excellent people skills and stakeholder engagement at all levels of a mid-size to large organization.
- A self-starter: excellent time management skills and delegation when necessary.
- Proven knowledge of budgeting and operating cost management.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, business or related field.
- 8 years related manufacturing experience, with minimum 4 years in a plant leadership capacity.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, Quality Management Systems and Production Planning/Scheduling
- Knowledge of Metal manufacturing and Fabrication is an asset.
- An advanced education: Masters or an MBA is an asset.
- Relevant industrial accreditation or certification, i.e. Lean Principles and Continuous Improvement is an asset.
- Knowledge of discrete manufacturing processes is an asset.
- Technical knowledge and operations of industrial manufacturing systems and processes is considered an asset.
- Highly developed oral (influencing) and written communication skills.

- Knowledge of the Aluminum architectural and construction industry with expertise in people-paced discrete manufacturing processes.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the innate ability to work with a wide variety of different personalities.
