We have a team of experienced health care professionals dedicated to patient care and medical cannabis education. Our teams consist of dedicated and empathetic professionals with a diverse set of perspectives, experiences, and collaboration to maximize our collective impact.The OpportunityWe are excited to expand our team of physicians who are accredited by the Canadian Academy of Pain Management and are currently looking for part-time work.We offer:Full training providedFull administrative supportFlexible days and hoursAn extensive multidisciplinary teamResponsibilitiesProvide consultations for veterans and other patients interested in obtaining a medical cannabis prescriptionHelp educate patients on the use of cannabis as a medicineLeveraging your experience as a pain specialist to review another healthcare practitioner’s medical cannabis treatment planApproving the plan when appropriate, and drafting and submitting an Exceptional Coverage Letter advising the insurer that, in your expert opinion, the treatment plan is reasonable and necessaryWhen applicable, recommending that the patient receive full insurance coverage to ensure sufficient access to their medicationFollow up with patients and monitor response to dosage and cannabinoids prescribedOther duties assigned.ExperienceMedical degree, registration and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of your provinceAccreditation by the Canadian Academy of Pain ManagementSpecialty designation preferredExcellent communication skills, written and verbal in EnglishDemonstrated ability to work independently and to manage a busy workloadTeam-oriented approach with existing team members and physiciansMust be highly organized and have a good sense of time managementInformed and abreast of scientific research and/or willing to learn more about the industryExperience in pain management or mental health is an assetPrevious work with veterans and/or medical cannabis is a big assetOther DetailsApollo is a growing organization in the exciting, fast-paced and evolving industry of medical cannabis.
