- Flights provided from Alberta hubs (Calgary or Edmonton)
- Supervising rope access teams on-site.
- Planning and coordinating tasks, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and conducting pre-job safety assessments. They may also be involved in
- Creating work permits and assessing the overall feasibility of the rope access work.
- Designing and installing anchor points, rigging various systems to access difficult-to-reach areas.
- Ensuring that all equipment is correctly deployed and meets safety standards.
- Overseeing and sometimes directly participating in rescue operations when required.
- IRATA Level 3 Certification required.
- Current first aid certification
- A thorough understanding of applicable rope access applications, and comprehensive knowledge of theory, equipment and rigging, maneuvers, climbing and hauling and advanced rescue techniques
- A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience as an IRATA Level 3 Rope Access Technician working within a variety of industrial environments.
- A valid drivers' license is preferred
- Advanced rope access techniques, including ascending, descending, and traversing on ropes.
- Proficiency in rigging and anchor system setup.
- Expertise in working with various rope access equipment such as descenders, ascenders, pulleys, and harnesses.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards.
- Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and hazard identification.
- Implementation and enforcement of safety protocols during rope access work.
- Strong leadership skills to supervise and coordinate rope access teams.
- Ability to plan and organize rope access projects, including task assignment and resource allocation.
- Effective communication with team members and other stakeholders.
- Proficient in advanced rescue techniques, including casualty recovery and evacuation from challenging environments.
- Capability to assess and manage emergency situations at height.
- Knowledge of rescue equipment and systems.
- Competence in conducting structural assessments and inspections at height.
- Knowledge of materials and construction methods to identify potential issues.
- Ability to perform basic maintenance tasks and repairs as needed.
- Strong analytical skills to identify and solve technical challenges during rope access work.
- Quick decision-making abilities in response to changing conditions or emergencies.
- Ability to maintain accurate records of rope access work, including equipment inspections, safety checks, and incident reports.
- Proficient in preparing documentation for permits, work plans, and project reports.
- Excellent physical condition to perform demanding tasks at height.
- Endurance and strength for prolonged periods of rope access work.
