We are seeking an experienced and strategic Data Governance Lead to establish and oversee our client's enterprise-wide data governance framework. This hybrid role, based in Fredericton, NB, offers a blend of onsite collaboration and remote flexibility. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring data quality, integrity, security, and compliance across the organization. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, the Data Governance Lead will implement data policies, standards, and practices that align with our strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING IN THE ROLE:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance strategy aligned with organizational goals.
- Establish data governance policies, standards, and procedures to manage data assets effectively.
- Monitor and enhance data quality by implementing data validation, cleansing, and profiling processes.
- Develop metrics and KPIs to assess data quality and governance effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Identify and mitigate data-related risks in collaboration with legal, compliance, and IT teams.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of metadata repositories and data dictionaries.
- Implement master data management practices to ensure consistency and accuracy of key data entities.
- Communicate progress and challenges to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Adjust strategies and practices based on feedback and evolving organizational needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in either Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science or related field.
- Over 6 years of experience in information management or related disciplines and 5 years of experience in supervisory or leadership roles.
- Proven expertise in cleansing and standardizing complex and large datasets from legacy sources.
- Extensive experience with large-scale SDLC projects involving multiple iteration, concurrent releases, and diverse work streams.
- Experience in data management, information lifecycle management, and implementation of data standards.
- Strong background in Master Data Management (MDM) implementation.
- Demonstrated ability to apply data governance practices and maintain data protection compliance.
- Strong knowledge in Records and Information Management.
- Experience driving significant business transformation using cloud Saas implementation.
- Demonstrated knowledge with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions. Human Resources, Finance and/or procurement fields are preferred.
