Senior Risk Manager
Location: Calgary, hybrid | ContractPay Rate: $100 - $110/hourAbout the RoleThe Senior Risk Manager is responsible for leading end-to-end risk assessments across large-scale initiatives, system implementations, and strategic projects. This role plays a critical part in identifying vulnerabilities, strengthening internal controls, and ensuring alignment with enterprise risk management frameworks.Combining deep technical expertise with strategic oversight, the successful candidate will partner cross-functionally to deliver actionable insights, enhance risk processes, and support informed decision-making at the executive level.Risk Strategy & Assessment

Conduct end-to-end risk assessments across large-scale projects and system implementations
Identify gaps, dependencies, and vulnerabilities within proposed designs and processes
Align initiative-level risks with the broader Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework

Process Improvement & Framework Ownership

Own and continuously enhance the NIRAP framework to support business growth and evolving regulatory requirements
Drive process maturity by improving risk methodologies and governance structures

Control Validation & Innovation

Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls across business processes
Develop and implement tools to map controls to end-to-end workflows and mitigate risk exposure

Reporting & Insights

Develop executive-level dashboards and reporting to track Key Risk Indicators (KRIs)
Translate complex risk data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership
Provide ongoing visibility into risk exposure throughout the project lifecycle

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Internal Audit, Compliance, and Business Operations teams
Build strong relationships across multiple lines of defense to drive alignment and influence outcomes
Support organization-wide risk initiatives and strategic priorities

What You'll Need

8+ years of experience in enterprise, operational, or technology risk management
Professional designations such as FRM, CRM, CPA, or equivalent preferred
Proven experience conducting complex risk assessments and validating internal controls
Strong ability to communicate complex concepts to executive audiences
Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and influence stakeholders
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with high independence
