We are hiring on behalf of a client in Calgary looking for an Automatic Sanding Machine Operator to join their woodworking team. The role involves operating and maintaining automated sanding machinery to ensure smooth, consistent finishes on wood components. While prior experience as a machine operator is preferred, the right candidate with a strong work ethic and interest in woodworking can be trained on the job.This full-time role is based at a transit-accessible facility. Hours are Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm, with occasional Saturday overtime from 7:00am to 12:00pm.

Set up and operate automatic sanding machines for wood surface preparationAdjust machine settings based on wood type, thickness, and required finishInspect materials during and after sanding to ensure consistent qualityPerform routine maintenance and troubleshoot basic mechanical issuesCoordinate with production staff to maintain workflow and deadlinesKeep equipment and surrounding work areas clean and safeQualifications
Machine operator experience in a wood manufacturing or production setting is preferredWillingness to be trained on automated sanding equipmentMechanical aptitude and ability to learn machine controls and maintenanceGood attention to detail and commitment to product qualityAbility to stand, bend, and lift throughout the shiftCSA-approved steel toe boots requiredSummary
