Brief Description:Our employer is a cultural festival from August 30 – September 6 at various venues around the city from downtown to uptown. The Foundation showcases the work of leading contemporary artists from Canada and around the world working in all artistic disciplines. Their mandate and programming encompasses a vast range of pan-Jewish music and art, including Sephardic, Ladino, Falasha and Mizrachi traditions, and also strongly emphasizes fusion and cross-cultural exchange with artists from outside Jewish cultural traditions. They are looking for a dynamic graphic designer to join their team and work closely with the Artistic and Managing Directors on Festival poster image ideas, graphic design, ad & flyer layouts, sponsor packages, t-shirt/merch designs, communications related to the 2026 summer concert series and festival, as well as other graphic design needs of the organization.Job Function:
  • Play a central role in the communications, promotion, and marketing efforts of the Ashkenaz Foundation
  • Generate ideas for a new Festival image/visual identity
  • Design graphics for sponsor packages, posters, cards, flyers, banners, and advertisements (print and online)
  • Create marketing materials for the Festival, other events, and niche-interest initiatives
  • Design layout and create content for regular e-newsletters using Constant Contact
  • Assist with the organization's social media presence (Facebook, Twitter/X, YouTube, Instagram, and others) to maximize reach and impact
  • Manage and organize images and programming information for the website
  • Plan and implement creative promotional campaigns
  • Create and edit online video promotions (if possible)
  • Perform other related duties as required

Job Requirement:
  • Some work can be done remotely, but the applicant must be willing to work with our team from our office in downtown Toronto as needed.
  • Excellent design and typography skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • Strong communication skills (both oral & written)
  • Excellent organizational/time management and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-orientated
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office, e-mail, Internet, social media and websites
  • Must work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Must be positive, mature-minded, flexible and comfortable working in a fast-paced, time-sensitive, non-corporate environment
  • Experience working on websites (backend, Wordpress platform) an asset
  • Experience with video editing an asset
  • Knowledge of and interest in music, the arts and/or Jewish culture is an asset
