Vancouver Pile Driving Ltd. (VanPile) is seeking an Intermediate Project Controls Specialist to support one of our major project sites in Prince Rupert. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in planning, monitoring, and guiding project performance in a dynamic, fast-paced marine construction environment.This is a fly-in, fly-out position with a two-week on / one-week off rotation. Convert proposal estimates into structured and accurate project budgets
Monitor daily and weekly production and financial reporting
Participate actively in change management processes
Maintain and update project risk registers
Ensure compliance with project history records and documentation requirements
Set up project WBS, cost codes, and baseline budgets
Uphold project controls policies and ensure consistent application across the project
Update project cash flows and analyze variances
Prepare accurate cost forecasts and performance reports
Review project contracts to ensure compliance with commercial requirements
Support and document change management processes
Provide insight and advice on project controls strategies
Train and mentor project staff in controls processes and procedures
Collaborate closely with the Contracts Specialist and Project Manager
Qualifications / Requirements
Minimum 5 years of Project Controls experience (heavy construction experience preferred)
Demonstrated success in project controls on fixed-price contracts
Proficiency with scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6
Degree in Engineering, Accounting, or equivalent discipline
Strong understanding of cost, schedule, change, and risk management principles
Experience with claims substantiation and complex project documentation
Ability to develop, maintain, and optimize Project Controls systems
Strong skills in generating internal and external project reports
