Summary of Duties:Blood transfusion and tissue banking activities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Transfusion Medicine and tissue banking activities
  • The Technologist will have primary responsibilities in the Tissue Bank
  • Processing donor skin allografts
  • Tissue product, blood and blood product inventory receipt and preparation
  • Routine testing duties within the Transfusion Medicine and Tissue Bank (group and screen, crossmatching)
  • Provide technical, scientific education and supportive services to assist in the provision of patient care.
  • Promotes activities which enhance best practice for quality of service and a safe working environment
  • This role includes on-call responsibilities
