Reporting to the Director of Banquets , responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Maintain close guest contact and banquet staff contact
- Clearly communicate verbally and in writing with Banquet staff, kitchen staff and other hotel departments
- Make management decisions in the best interest of the hotel and the guest
- Review and maintain high quality of set-up, service and follow-up for Banquet events
- Accurately tally beverage consumption sheets in a timely manner
- Accurately and efficiently process Banquet checks (post, client signatures, close and process)
- Abide by Banquet service standards
- Direct multiple events at the same time
- Lead Banquet Servers, Housemen and kitchen personnel in teamwork
- Train and follow up on service standards
- Provide excellent overall design and décor of banquet space, even in the absence of client provided supplies
- Secondary skills such as bartending, serving, room set-up and break-down
- Other duties as assigned
- Directly supervises Banquet Servers, Banquet Housemen and Banquet Bartenders, alone or in tandem with other Banquet Captains and the Director of Banquets or the Assistant Banquet Manager.
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift.
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting.
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps.

- Previous leadership experience required (in a Event operations setting).
- Ability to work under pressure in fast paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Working Knowledge regarding labor forecasting, scheduling and expense forecasting is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Computer knowledge in Microsoft Window applications required.
- University/College degree in a related discipline an asset.
- Highly responsible & reliable.
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
