GTD ID: H6T5Y1 Role OverviewWe are hiring a Mainframe Development Lead (TSA Migration) to drive a high-impact legacy modernization initiative. This role will lead the migration of FOCUS-based applications to COBOL, JCL, and SORT/ICETOOL on the mainframe.You will combine technical leadership, hands-on development, and migration ownership, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure performance, stability, and functional accuracy. MUST-HAVE SKILLS (With Required Experience) Mainframe Development & Architecture
- 8+ years of experience in Mainframe Application Development
- 5+ years in Technical Solution Architecture / Lead roles
- Strong experience leading end-to-end design and delivery
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in COBOL
- Expertise in batch processing, program design, and optimization
- 6+ years working with JCL
- 5+ years experience using SORT and ICETOOL utilities
- Proven ability to handle data transformation and batch optimization
- 5+ years of experience with DB2 and SQL
- Strong understanding of:
- Batch integration
- Query optimization
- Performance tuning
- 4+ years working with:
- KSDS
- ESDS
- RRDS
- Experience managing large-scale datasets
- 5+ years in legacy system migration or modernization
- Proven track record of:
- Converting legacy logic into modern batch solutions
- Ensuring data validation, reconciliation, and parallel runs
- Lead migration from FOCUS COBOL/JCL/SORT ICETOOL
- Own solution design, architecture decisions, and coding standards
- Analyze and re-engineer legacy logic
- Guide development teams through build, testing, and deployment
- Ensure performance, scalability, and operational stability
- Collaborate with business, QA, and platform teams
- Drive data validation and migration accuracy
- Experience with FOCUS and/or SAS
- Prior FOCUS COBOL/SORT ICETOOL migration
- Exposure to:
- Mainframe performance tuning
- Batch scheduling tools
- Experience in Financial Services domain
- Must be able to attend in-person meet & greet
- Willingness to travel if required (covered by client)
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Interview: Face-to-face client interview required
- Think architecturally
- Code when needed
- Lead teams through complex legacy transformations
