- Provide on site representation and construction services for a variety of projects for a varied client base including the BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, Municipalities, and private sector clients.
- Oversee the on-site construction of various transportation engineering projects.
- Engage in daily contract administration duties as well as site inspection duties to monitor and document Contractor progress, workmanship, and conformance with the contract documents.
- Serve as Associated Engineering’s Representative in communicating with the public and other stakeholders through the duration of the construction contract.
- Participate in opportunities for contributing to all phases of projects from proposal writing, preliminary and detailed design, construction inspection and construction administration support.
- Comply and work within COR certified environment and performing all duties in accordance with those specified under the Occupational Health & Safety Act and applicable legislation.
- Engage in a collaborative work environment, working with a team, as well as other disciplines and offices, and grow your role and responsibilities over time.
- 3+ years in Contract Administration and Site Inspection.
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in Civil Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution considered an asset.
- Experience on transportation projects, with specific experience in roadway improvements.
- Familiarity with road/bridge construction materials, methods, and process.
- Computer skills including civil3D, word, excel, PDF/Bluebeam markups and windows applications.
- Committed team player with ability to work independently with minimum direction when required.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and quality.
- Ability to work within tight deadlines and schedules.
- Demonstrates interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel throughout the province.
- Track record in managing clients and developing client relationships.
- Ability to liaise effectively and clearly with clients, both written and verbal.
- Comfortable working on a variety of project types in a variety of disciplines and sectors across Canada.
- Valid driver’s licence required. This position requires use of personal vehicle in good working order to be used occasionally for business use, for which there is reimbursement.
