Lead Maintenance TechnicianOur client is seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Maintenance Technician to oversee property maintenance operations across residential and commercial assets. This role is responsible for supervising a team of maintenance technicians, coordinating daily workloads, and ensuring timely completion of repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance. The Lead Maintenance Technician will also liaise with property managers, site managers, and contractors to maintain building systems and uphold service standards. The ideal candidate will bring over 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience and supervisory expertise, with strong knowledge of building systems, Alberta Building Codes, and a commitment to safety and professionalism.Your success will be defined by your ability to:
  • Lead and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring accountability and performance
  • Coordinate and participate in 24-hour emergency on-call programs
  • Manage maintenance schedules, inventory, and supply logistics
  • Communicate effectively with property managers, site staff, and contractors
  • Oversee and perform repairs in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general building systems
  • Conduct suite turnovers, inspections, and preventative maintenance programs
  • Monitor contractor work and ensure compliance with company standards
  • Maintain accurate records in property management software (POs, work orders, reports)
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with OHS legislation and safety protocols
  • Approve timesheets, time-off requests, and prepare monthly maintenance reports
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to tenants and stakeholders
Your strengths include:
  • 5+ years of residential and/or commercial maintenance experience
  • 5+ years in a supervisory role
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to assess emergency situations
  • Advanced knowledge of Alberta Building Codes and building systems
  • Certifications in WHMIS, CSTS, and First Aid
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Proficiency in using hand tools safely and effectively
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
