Senior Mechanical Engineer (Building Systems) – Toronto (On-Site)We are partnering with a well-established multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy to hire a Senior Mechanical Engineer for their growing GTA team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a design-focused, client-facing environment and is looking to take ownership of projects while mentoring junior staff.The RoleYou will play a key role in delivering mechanical building systems design across a range of complex projects, while also supporting team development and client coordination.Key Responsibilities

Lead mechanical design for building projects from concept through to completion
Perform HVAC and plumbing/piping system design, including equipment sizing and selection
Produce and review detailed engineering calculations and drawings
Work extensively in Revit MEP for design and coordination
Manage projects, timelines, and deliverables in a consulting environment
Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, and clients
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior and intermediate engineers

Requirements

8+ years of experience in mechanical building systems design
Strong background in HVAC and plumbing/piping systems (design-focused)
Proven experience working within a building engineering consultancy
Advanced proficiency in Revit MEP (mandatory)
Solid understanding of mechanical calculations, codes, and standards
Demonstrated ability to manage projects end-to-end
Strong communication skills with client-facing experience

Project Experience (Required)

High-density residential (multi-unit) developments
Healthcare and/or institutional projects
Commercial or public-use facilities (e.g., recreational, cultural)

(Note: Industrial/warehouse experience is not aligned with this role)What’s Offered

Base Salary: $100,000 – $110,000
