As a Utility Tree Trimmer, you can rest assured that one day will never be the same as the other. In this role you will have a chance to travel to several work sites across a geographic area and put your certification as either a Certified Utility Arborist or Utility Tree Trimmer to work as you safely execute trimming for our utility clients; the work you do will ensure the ongoing and safe transmission of electricity.Job Duties
  • Provide expert level tree trimming services and inspections for clients
  • Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
  • Responsible for climbing, pruning, and removing trees as per work specifications.
  • Perform required general maintenance and daily inspection of equipment.
  • Removal or trimming of trees and brush encroaching onto utility or transportation rights of ways.
  • Properly maintain, prepare, and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
  • Manage customer service expectations, safely lead jobsite and crew operations.
  • Abide by Davey and industry safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Electric utility tree trimming/climbing experience preferred
  • Line clearance certification
  • Certified Utility Arborist, Utility Arborist, or Utility Tree Trimmer qualification
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Advanced chainsaw and chipper operation.
  • Strong tree and shrub identification skills.
  • Valid provincial driver's license. Licensed to drive a 5-ton vehicle and air brake endorsement considered an asset.
  • Ability to work safely as part of a team and possess the willingness to learn and progress.
Additional Information
  • Full time. Year-round employment.
  • Occasional overtime required.
