Job HighlightsCity VaughanType ContractHourly Rate $32Apply Now!About the OpportunityPayroll ResponsibilitiesEnsure accuracy and completeness of all documentation pertaining to new hires, employment terminations, salary/wage change recommendations in accordance with company policy and applicable federal and provincial legislationProcess full cycle bi-weekly payroll using software for approximately 30 employees (salaried, part-time, contract)Provide full supporting payroll documentation to Finance Manager for review prior to transmission of payroll data. Conducts post-transmission review of payroll entries and reconciliations to accounting recordsReconcile and complete all remittance to government and benefit carriers in a timely mannerPrepare monthly payroll related recovery information to accounts receivable for invoicing to third partiesReconcile and prepare all tax forms and reporting requirements such as Record of Employment, T4, T4A, T4A NR, WSIB, Employer Health Tax reportMaintain employee personnel files, in storage including destruction recordsPrepare and calculate the Pension Adjustments for each employee at year endKeeps abreast of all relevant legislation, compliance requirements and current best practicesAd hoc projects as assignedPension Plan ResponsibilitiesManage company pension database with actuary ensuring all information is accurately maintained (i.e. new hires, salary changes, terminations etc.)Prepare and journalize all monetary flow between Trustee and company pension plans, such as transfer of employee/employer contributions, prepare A&S retiree monthly payroll, etc.Reconcile all pension related accounts to monthly Trustee reports on a timely basisAssist Finance Manager in the preparation of Pension Financial Statements for auditEnsure the Pension Plan is being administered appropriately and in compliance with Plan Documents and AgreementsAbout YouMinimum 3 years full cycle Canadian payroll experience including working knowledge of payroll softwareIn-depth knowledge of Ontario payroll legislation, employment standards, applicable taxation rules and year end reporting processesSuperior attention to detail and accuracy in data entryDemonstrates above-average analytical skillsUtmost ability to maintain confidentialitySelf-motivated and able to work individually with minimal supervisionA team player, possessing high interpersonal and communication skillsAdvanced level MS Excel skills and proficient in MS Office applicationsHourly Rate
