
Senior Controls Engineer & Deputy Manager - Airport Project

- Oversees control and specialty systems throughout the program, including programmable logic controllers (PLC), low-voltage (LV), and high-voltage (HV) systems.
- Leads controls work across all project phases, from procurement and design to construction, commissioning, and acceptance.
- Serves as the lead project representative for the controls review process during procurement.
- Evaluates Alternative Technical Concepts proposed by General Contractor teams during the proposal development phase.
- Aligns technical project execution with established control system goals for each project.
- Provides oversight of controls design and construction, ensuring compliance with technical requirements through design and submittal reviews.
- Manages controls integration across all program projects.
- Coordinates interfaces between the program and adjacent projects.
- Reviews and approves design deliverables at various stages to ensure scope compliance and adherence to best practices, providing a Professional Engineer's record for each review.
- Ensures consistency and quality across all control system designs delivered by different projects and stakeholders within the program.
- Monitors designer involvement during construction, including RFIs, shop drawings, material approvals, mock-ups, and punch lists.
- Ensures timely and budget-compliant completion of design reviews in coordination with all projects.
- No less than a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering/Instrumentation Engineering plus 6 years of experience as a controls engineer associated in the design of large-scale airport or infrastructure projects.
- Registered Professional Engineer.
- 10 years of experience as a controls engineer in the design of large-scale airport or infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in developing piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID).
- Expertise in control systems, including PLC- and DCS-based automation and programming.
- EIT/FE certification or eligibility to obtain certification.
- Knowledge of industry codes and standards, such as NEC, NESC, IEEE, PIP, and NFPA.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
