Security Intervention Officer (Retail Tactical Security - De-escalation & Arrests)About the RoleAs a Security Intervention Officer (Tactical Guard), you'll serve as a frontline safety professional in a retail environment. This role combines visible deterrence, customer service, de-escalation, and lawful arrests/recoveries. You'll be approachable yet authoritative-balancing intervention skills with professionalism to protect people, property, and brand reputation.This role is ideal for confident individuals who stay calm under pressure and take pride in proactive security work.Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a strong, visible presence to deter theft and unwanted activity
  • Provide professional, customer-focused service to staff and guests
  • Proactively intervene to prevent theft and disruptive behaviour
  • Conduct recoveries and apprehensions in line with company procedures
  • Respond to incidents quickly and de-escalate situations effectively
  • Support store management in protecting people, property, and assets
  • Complete clear, accurate incident reports in a timely manner
Job Requirements
  • Valid BC Security Worker License (AST)
  • OFA Level 1 required (OFA 2 an asset)
  • 1+ year of security experience preferred
  • Retail security or loss prevention experience an asset
  • Strong communication and conflict-management skills
  • Ability to remain standing and alert for up to 8-hour shifts
  • Professional appearance and conduct at all times
