Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing manufacturing and process engineering, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to achieve production, quality, and budget goals. This role involves managing engineering teams, fostering collaboration, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance productivity, quality, and operational efficiency within the plant.Key Responsibilities:
Manufacturing and Process Engineering
- Collaborate with Program Managers to ensure product launches, including equipment and tooling planning, floor layout, lean manufacturing implementation and initial production planning.
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes to optimize productivity,
- Lead the development and implementation of innovative manufacturing techniques to
- Collaborate with the Production Team to lead continuous improvement initiatives,
o Reducing headcount and manufacturing overhead.
o Implementing lean manufacturing solutions, such as automation and process
flexibility.
o Decreasing scrap rates and improving first-time quality.Escalation Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for resolving critical internal and external escalations.
- Develop actionable solutions for "red issues" and communicate plans effectively to
- Oversee the selection, acquisition, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment to
- Make technical decisions regarding equipment purchases and ensure minimal downtime
- Partner with the Quality Assurance team to ensure manufacturing processes meet or
- Apply lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste, reduce variability, and drive
- Reports directly to the Plant Manager.

- Equipment MTBF, MTTR
- Cycle Time: Improved throughput and efficiency.
- Cost Savings: Annual cost reduction and efficiency improvements
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, ideally in automotive.
- Experienced in working with IATF16949 / ISO14001/ISO45001
- Proficient in GD&T and understanding blueprints
- Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and technologies.
- Proficient in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Experience manufacturing powertrain and transmission components.
- Experience with mechanical subsystems.
- Experience with CNC machining is an asset
- Experience with metal forming, heat treatment is an asset
- Experience with Aluminum Die Cast process is an asset
- Open to travel for site support or technology evaluations.
- Flexible to resolve urgent production issues or meet deadlines after hours.
