Team Lead Electrical Designer / Engineer
Location: Hamilton/Waterloo

Experience Level: Senior / LeadershipAbout the Role:
We are working with a growing building engineering consultancy seeking a Team Lead Electrical Designer / Engineer to lead and mentor a team while remaining hands-on in design. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys technical leadership, client interaction, and helping shape the growth of a high-performing electrical group.You’ll play a key role in project delivery, team development, and client relationships across a diverse portfolio of projects.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage multiple electrical design projects from concept through constructionProvide technical oversight and quality control for electrical designs and documentationMentor and develop junior and intermediate designers/engineersPrepare and review drawings, specifications, and technical reportsCoordinate with mechanical, structural, architectural, and civil teamsParticipate in client meetings, site visits, and construction coordinationSupport contract administration, including shop drawing reviews and site reviewsContribute to project planning, scheduling, and budgetingAssist with team growth, hiring, and process improvements as the group scalesRequired Qualifications:Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering TechnologyMinimum 7-10+ years of experience in building consulting engineeringStrong background in electrical systems design (power, lighting, emergency systems, etc.)Experience leading projects and mentoring junior staffExcellent communication skills and client-facing experienceAbility to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneouslyPreferred Qualifications:P.Eng. designation or eligibility (or CET with senior consulting experience)Experience in healthcare, institutional, commercial, or multi-residential projectsExposure to business development, proposals, or team growth initiativesWhy Join:Leadership role with real influence and visibilityCollaborative, supportive consulting environmentOpportunity to remain hands-on technically while leading a teamClear growth path with long-term career progressionCompetitive compensation and benefits package
